Alex Omist was born in Barcelona, where he studied graphic design at the ELISAVA Barcelona School of Design. After college, he joined Hachette Filipacchi as art director and began working with different companies as an illustrator and graphic designer. His work draws inspiration from the illustrators of the 1950s, where cheerful and fairytale colours, strong lines and utopian worlds prevail. In 2009, he set up his own creative agency, Alex Omist Creative Studio.
Most of Alex’s work caters for a young-at-heart audience. The Imaginary Forms collection is based on geometric or abstract forms, which express a love of colours and cheerful patterns. The message is clear: love, optimism and the will to live are what make the world go round. His clients include: Nintendo, Schwarzkopf and Planeta.
