An Illustrated Life
Emiliano Ponzi is considered one of the greatest contemporary Italian illustrators.
At just over 20 years old, he developed his own personal style and began working for Italian as well as international publications such as the New York Times, Le Monde and The Economist. His illustrations are pared down, made up of large fields of colour and some details which together build the power of meaning the image aims to convey. Emiliano has received several awards, including the Young Guns Award from the New York Art Directors Club, the medals of honour from the Society of Illustrators in New York and awards for excellence from the press, like the International Design Award, the Communication Arts Illustration annual and the American Illustration annual.
Also worthy of note is the Gold Cube from the Art Directors Club in New York, which he received in 2013. His first monograph (Ita-Eng) was published by Corraini in 2011.
