With Tramae Collection, Glamora explores new material dimensions, blending aesthetics, innovation, and functionality. The collection’s wallcoverings, crafted from GlamOrigin, a pure and tactile material, stand out for their three-dimensional, sandy texture, which lends surfaces remarkable expressive depth.

COLLECTION CONCEPT

The collection is a tribute to the Italian artist Costantino Nivola (1911–1988), and in particular to the sand casting technique he invented.

This process involved pouring plaster or concrete onto a sand surface that had been previously sculpted in negative, resulting in reliefs with a pleasantly irregular texture.

Sand Casting made Nivola’s work unique and cemented his reputation as a “sculptor for architecture”, leading to collaborations with the great masters of Modernism on iconic architectural projects, including the Olivetti showroom in New York.

His sculptural approach is now reinterpreted by Glamora in a contemporary way, giving rise to a wallcovering that evokes the aesthetic of handcrafted surface treatments.

Such a refined and versatile innovation in the world of surfaces is designed to adapt to projects of all scales, from residential interiors to public spaces in search of a sophisticated yet understated design.

GlamOrigin, the sculpted matter.

GlamOrigin is a matt textured, three-dimensional wallcovering featuring engravings and reliefs that evoke the elegance of sculpted plaster or artisan-moulded concrete.

Its composition, created through the layering of quartz powder on a nonwoven fabric backing, enhances the depth of the surface with a refined interplay of light and shadow.

Distinctive features, such as the surface’s organic irregularities and subtle tonal variations, stem from the use of natural raw materials. These intrinsic elements highlight its uniqueness and elevate its aesthetic value, bestowing it with an authentic and expressive character.

Patterns and colour palette.

Tramae Collection explores the expressive potential of GlamOrigin through four distinctive patterns – RICAMI, RILIEVI, TRACCE, and VELI – each interpreting three-dimensionality with a sophisticated and refined language.

Inherently textured and vibrant, each motif enhances the value of artisanal craftsmanship through delicate bas-reliefs, evoking sculptural gestures and the tactile quality of hand-worked surfaces.

The collection is defined by a compact and essential palette, composed of two warm, matte neutral tones: Pure white, a luminous milky white, and Silk grey, a sophisticated taupe.

Inspired by natural materials, these shades blend harmoniously into both modern and classic interiors, enhancing the material depth of surfaces and allowing for refined stylistic compositions.

In its Pure white variant, the material becomes an open canvas for custom colour applications. The surface can be painted with water-based paints, offering infinite creative possibilities and adapting to a wide range of projects, from subtle tone-on-tone effects to bolder colour contrasts.

The collection is distinguished by its exceptional design versatility.

Its structure, composed of four free-match patterns and two combinable tones, allows for compositions ranging from subtle, understated solutions to configurations that bring movement and depth to surfaces.

For example, different patterns can be combined in the same shade to create a minimal monochromatic effect, or variations of the same pattern can be alternated in different colours for a more expressive and dynamic result.

The junctions between panels become an integral part of the design, enhanced by decorative profiles that emphasise visual continuity and add a refined elegance to the entire composition.
